Mit „Aerocalexico“ zeigte sich Calexico kurz nach der eher mainstreamigen Nummer „Crystal Frontier“ von der raueren, spröderen, puristischeren Seite. Das Album gab es nur auf der 2001er Tour und über die eigene Website. Cityslang hat aber passenderweise gestern den Titel Gift X-change auf Soundcloud gepackt. Gift X-change ist ein trauriger aber tröstlicher Titel über Einsamkeit am Weihnachtstag und die Aufforderung, sich selbst ein Geschenk zu machen. Und sei es nur, trotz allem zu lieben. Wenigstens sich selbst! Burns flüstert es fast:

In case you don’t find what you need when you finally arrive

Dass die angebotene deutsche Übersetzung nicht will, dass er es nach Hause schafft sondern es dort macht (Siehe Titel), hat nichts mit „typisch deutsch“ zu tun sondern mit typisch Übersetzungsmodus :D
